filmmaking for kids
Filmmaking For Kids Program (Young Creators) is a perfect way to try out new things and advance the skills in filmmaking your child already has. Each student will participate in a film production or animated short as well as learning principles of digital photography in crews of five-six and rotates between principal film crew positions. After producing their own films, students will learn to edit the films on digital editing programs such as iMovie and Final Cut. Younger kids participate in the class projects with given tasks that are adopted to their age, ability and creativity.
Filmmaking Program Topics Include:
* Intensive hands-on study in camera, acting and directing
* Story structure, theme, character, tension and conflict
* Fundamental elements of visual storytelling
* Characters creation from plasticine (for Stop-Motion Animation)
* Take a story from initial idea to a finished script
* Post-production
* Editing films with digital editing software
* Photography
* Comics and Illustrations
Our filmmaking participants make approximately 20 shorts each year, and the array of “sets” in the neighbourhood makes a perfect location for our program.
There are many Film Festivals (both, Local and International) that we submit our projects to. At the end of Filmmaking Program (end of June) each year we celebrate our success with Filmmaking Showcase and Party.
